IRSH WOLFHOUND CLUB OF THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY

Monthly Meeting – April 15, 2009

Hazel’s Diner – Canby Or

The meeting was called to order at 7:00PM

Present:  President Michael Demeter, Vice- President  Jayney Rosekamp, Secretary Linda Crosby, Rescue Co-chair Patty Storkel

Other Attendees: Cecile & Daniel Becker, Dorian Mell, David Sigafoos, Jean Fleetwood, and Tina & Mark Berry

Minutes:  The February 2009 minutes were approved.

Treasure Report:  A balance for the treasury was reported and the Rescue Fund. No club expenditures to report .

Old Business:  The Hollywood St. Patrick’s Parade and Kell’s activities went well. A smaller turn out than in past years was reported. Michael requested that if others have pictures from either event, that they would like to share, that they be sent to him for display on the Club’s website. Michael was also hoping that someone took a group picture from the parade that could also be sent to him.

New Business:
1.    David Sigafoos requested copies of minutes for the newsletter. David would also like from each officer/chairperson a short summary of their duties to also include in the newsletter.

2.    The vote was unanimous to donate from the club’s book collection a book to both the Irish Wolfhound Club of Canada and the Irish Wolfhound Club of Canada’s BC Branch for their auctions at the National Specialty to be held on Sept 17-19, 2009.

3.    A new meeting place for the next while was decided to be Hazel’s Diner in Canby OR. Jean Fleetwood will be making the arrangements with the restaurant.

4.    The members discussed not having the regular annual match this September 2009 because of the Canada specialty being held the weekend before but instead (to  hold our place at the fairgrounds) it was decided to have a potluck picnic with various events. Some ideas tossed around were: handling & grooming demo, silent auction that Tina offered to chair, Canine Good Citizenship Testing that Patty offered to administer test, still have t-shirt/sweatshirts available for sale, parade of rescues, regular picnic events to participate with our dogs such as 5 legged race, dog food eating contest out of watermelon bowls, tug-a-war, potato sack race…..

5.    Tina accepted to chair picnic, please send any ideas to her.

6.    Tina also reported that she has obtain ring equipment at no charge and it is now stored in the Canby storage unit.

7.    The pending by-laws will be sent out for review and the intention is that they be voted on/in at the next meeting,

8.    The meeting was adjourned at 8:00PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Linda Crosby, Secretary
