IRISH WOLFHOUND CLUB OF THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY
Monthly Meeting - January 21, 2009
Season's Grill - Canby, OR
The meeting was called to order at 7:35PM
Present: President Michael Demeter, V.P. Jayney Roskamp, Secretary Esther
Monical, Rescue Co-chair Patty Storkel
Other Attendees: Mark Berry, Linda Crosby, Cecile & Daniel Becker
Minutes:
There were no minutes available from the October meeting. The Secretary had
been absent. There were no meetings in November or December.
Treasurers Report:
None. Treasurer absent.
Old Business
1. 2009 Match - There will be no Match in 2009.
2. Membership
. a. The following new member applications were accepted unanimously:
Regine Goerke, Mary & David Higgins,
Joe & Kathy Reynolds, David & Vicki Sigafoos. Moved by Patty;
second by Jayney.
b. The 2009 membership list is available from Sue Tank.
c. Esther is following up with members to obtain any email addresses
we don't have.
3. Constitution & Bylaws - Michael to send last draft to Esther for
distribution and ratification. All present agreed we should distribute and vote via
email and use US Post when email not available.
4. Insurance - There was discussion on this topic.
5. Website - Michael reported that payment for the site is due at the end
of January. He will handle it.
6. Rescue
a. Patty reported receiving and following up on an email to place a
9mo old IW cross that turned out not be wolfhound..
b. Esther reported having received a request for an IW via our website
email and will forward it to Patty.
7. Heart Study - Michael reported that the study is not taking any new
enrollees.
8. Book Sale - We still agreed it is a good idea to raffle off some books
at our Matches and sell others at other dog
shows (Canadian National, US National) to raise
money for our Rescue fund. Listing books for sale
on our website was added to this list of ideas.
There was agreement that there is no need to
rush to sell the books because our treasury is
sound.
9. Match Replacement Activity - Suggested activities: 'Save-the-Date'
picnic/BBQ, CDC Testing ($10/dog), Auction, Grooming demo
(including dremel use). September 26th.

New Business
1. Election of Officers - The following names nominations were made and
accepted by the nominees:
President - Michael Demeter
Vice President - Jayney Roskamp
Treasurer - Nadean Murray
Secretary - Linda Crosby
Rescue Co-chairs - Patty Storkel and Ellen Kroll
Newsletter Chair - open
Librarian - open
Mark moved to accept the above slate; second by Daniel. Accepted
unanimously. Esther will distribute the slate and call for votes from the membership via email and US post based on
address availability.
2. Other Activities: Jayney suggested we do a club sponsored activity in
June at the Braun's in Cathlamet, WA.
